We started out young, hungry, visionary and ended up with a completely different line-up where I was the only original member left in the band. The last line up disbanded back in 2013 and that was due to the lack of interest in the music where the passion for playing this genre went away.<br \/>\nNow its different. It is a crucial time for us as individuals in terms of where we are in our lives. I&#8217;m referring to this particular point on the timeline we are at right now, after having gone through various stages in life.<br \/>\nWe have all been on a journey of formation over the past 10 years. We haven&#8217;t played with Michael for 18 years, and the rest of us haven&#8217;t set foot in a rehearsal room together in 13 years. Together, we laid a foundation 20 years ago when we were young.<br \/>\nWhy have we chosen to reunite the band? Because it&#8217;s the right time for us. We are at a place where we have rediscovered the desire and joy of playing, and for some of us, this is a bright spot in our lives that creates hope and joy after having gone through various stages of life, including divorces, family tragedies, and even old age. It just feels right, and we want to take the chance to build on the foundation we created many years ago and see what it can do today.<br \/>\nThis is based on the fact that we still have people listening to the band in 140 countries, and our back catalog has sold around 100,000 copies, which we consider a decent size for what was measured in CD sales back then. Times have changed, and we come from a time when you had to play well, where everything didn&#8217;t have to be so polished, and where we didn&#8217;t over-fix things in a record production. However I believe we were one of the first bands that were very inspired by a band like Meshuggah who had some sort of impact on our sound which helped us shape some of the polyrhytmic compositions part of our music. However I dont think its fair to take all the credit as there were other bands around the same time as us, such as Sybreed and Textures. On another note, other bands came later onto the market that were much more talented than us who truly cemented the Djent genre. Are there any bands that you pay attention to in this sense?<\/span><\/h5>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333399;\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif;\">\u3010MIRCEA\u3011: <\/span><\/strong><\/span><em>The &#8220;The Audio Injected Soul&#8221; was a natural progression from &#8220;Mechanical Spin Phenomena&#8221; but this time we wanted to push the boundaries of sound production with the integration of AM3D technology in ways that hadn&#8217;t been done before.<br \/>\nUnfortunately I have not kept up with the evolution in digital technology, recording equipment, and production software. However I do believe it has dramatically enhanced the quality and variety of sounds that artists can achieve nowadays. On the flip side I also do believe that at some point you hit a wall with DSP (digital signal processing) as all sounds end up sounding the same and its hard to come up with something truly unique. In fact, many bands these days show respect to you guys, do you feel that you were literally too early, too ahead of your time, making music of the future?<\/span><\/h5>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333399;\"><strong><span style=\"font-family: 'book antiqua', palatino, serif;\">\u3010MIRCEA\u3011: <\/span><\/strong><\/span><em>I am not sure to be honest. We might have been too early or it was a combination of how we expanded in different markets and how we reached audiences that might not have been so open to this type of genre. But I suspect we were a bit early, as we did have other bands come in and despite being early, we take pride in knowing that our work helped pave the way for these bands and contributed to the evolution of the genre. The label &#8220;Fusion Future Metal&#8221; was our definition of what we saw as the potential for the &#8220;Djent&#8221; genre, even before the term became popular. It&#8217;s incredibly gratifying to see that many bands today respect and acknowledge our contributions.
